Old nerds watching men fight...

So, I'm doing this thing. I'll be showing old 'rasslin videos at the Flicker Theater and Bar in Athens. I hope a few people show up for this thing, then I'll do it again. Maybe it can become a thing? Who knows. I just realized (because of a comment left on this entry) that I didn't type the date for this thing. It's happening on the 16th of May, 2011. BE THERE!

Not sure what I'm gonna show yet. Maybe Starrcade 1990 but, I'm totally open to suggestions and whims.

Some things happen.

So this "blog" is kind of stupid. I started it over three years ago as a kind of excuse to post things that I thought were "interesting" that I had around the house.

Then it kind of maybe turned into an "mp3 blog" for a while and then it stopped being anything at all. I guess I have recently had a hankerin' to once again write about things on the internet in ways that are neither limited to 140 characters nor appearing on a "wall" or in a "news feed", so here I am.

I have, you've probably noticed, changed the url of this place to something quite cumbersome and difficult to remember, so I guess I'm limiting myself once again. Anyway, thanks for showing up. I can't promise things here will get any less stupid. I can only promise to make a half-hearted attempt to make them happen a little more frequently.

Neglected

I have interests. One of them includes posting things here, and maybe things that aren't dumb mix tapes I made for you. Though I will tell you that the next post I make will most likely be another dumb mix tape I made for you.

All I'm saying is that yes, this thing is updated very infrequently, but whoever you are I'm glad you're looking at this.

I'll be back soon.

Something Good Is Gonna Happen - January 2010 Mix Tape

I made you another mix tape. You guys are so lucky. There's a surprisingly high number of Jamaican pop songs on here. I guess I was carried away by the Island Riddims. Or something. There's also a Monkees demo, a Charlie Feathers demo, Public Image, Ltd, a song about Frankenstein and more stuff that will increase the quantity of awesome in your day.

Hey, leave a comment, why don't you, and let me know if I should keep this up. There are quite possibly plans for something similar to my Internet Music and Talking Program but involving an actual other human. fIREHOSE taught us that "everything ain't just two dudes talkin'", but this may be just exactly that thing. I will let you know.

Meanwhile, please tell me what you think of this collection of songs, won't you?

Not like I think anyone out there (of the probably 5 of you who even look at this) have any expectations AT ALL for it, but I'm filled still with the zeal of the recently converted or whatever, so I feel that if I don't make a token post at least once a day, then the internet (all 5 of you) will give up on me, so here it is.

No music tonight, though. Tomorrow, 2 songs about driving cars. Or maybe a VERY thinly disguised dick joke. They're both coming, I just can't decide which comes first. Also some French Canadian grindcore, which should really shake up the mood I've got going, such as it is, and also a song about the possibility of making the moon out 51st state.

Right now, though, I should be asleep, so that is what I will do.
